According to the National Alliance on Mental Illness (NAMI), approximately 1 in 5 adults in the United States experience mental illness in a given year, and 1 in 20 live with a serious mental illness such as schizophrenia, bipolar disorder, or major depression. Despite this, mental health still carries a stigma, and many people are afraid to speak up about their experiences, leading to feelings of isolation and shame. It's time to change that.
